About Dr. Deangie Davis
Hey there! I’m glad you could make it.
I aim to live life fully, and one of the most meaningful parts of my work is helping others grow. I’m a daughter of immigrants from Jamaica, avid reader of silly romance novels, traveler, and someone deeply interested in reflection, meaning, and intentional living.
My experiences as a caregiver to several family members have shaped both my personal life and my professional lens. They’ve given me firsthand insight into the emotional, physical, and systemic challenges faced by people who support others; often while managing their own responsibilities, identities, and ambitions.
I am deeply familiar with the joys and challenges of navigating U.S. society, particularly within professional, healthcare systems, and higher-education/ academia settings. Based in Philadelphia, much of my perspective is informed by an understanding of how culture, identity, power, and systemic stressors intersect with mental health.
I’ve worked with people from many walks of life and especially enjoy supporting individuals at the crux of intersectionality with multiple marginalized identities. As a Black woman therapist, I pride myself in approaching therapy with multicultural humility, curiosity, humor and nonjudgmental empathy. I strive to create a space where you feel understood, respected, and supported as your full self.
